Solo Exhibition: Menangkap Gelagat

John’s greatest passion lies in revealing the stories of people through his photography. In his free time, as you can read in the Journal, he loves roaming around the city to find interesting moments and corners to capture. Since 2021, John has been quietly collecting candid shots of everyday life. Over time, this growing collection blossomed into a photo exhibition titled Menangkap Gelagat, a heartfelt celebration of people and the spontaneous moments captured through his lens.
The collections come from diverse places, from Chinatown and Pasar Baru, to random places and streets he passed by while traveling abroad. Some shots capture simple, intimate moments, like a flirty bajaj driver teasing his wife, while others show striking contrasts and differences that only happen in a split second. For the exhibition, John also curated a unique set of thrifted frames, each piece one of a kind, so every artwork comes with its own special frame, making each purchase truly unique.
