Back in April 2025, John found himself hunting through Taipei for something highly specific: a hidden treasure trove of rare, vintage European car parts. After successfully tracking down the shop and securing his retro haul, he stepped out onto the curb and ordered a ride back through the app.
What happened next was pure, unscripted Taipei magic.
The moment the car door clicked open and John settled into the back seat, he realized he hadn't just stepped into a standard Toyota—he had stepped into a portal of pure, unadulterated fandom.
Looking up from the back, forget the boring, sterile car interiors; the entire cabin was a colorful, floor-to-ceiling shrine. Right in front of him, the back of the driver's seat was adorned with K-pop photocards, a pink NCT "Make a Wish" ticket, and a row of anime plushies including Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen dangling near the console. Up on the dashboard, an entire army of acrylic anime stands like Ai Hoshino and Detective Conan filled the space. But the ultimate crown jewels of the collection were the autographed polaroid pictures pinned near the windshield—real, signed snapshots of the driver himself smiling side-by-side with his favorite idols at a fan event.
It turned out the driver wasn't just navigating the streets of Taipei; he was living his absolute best life as a hardcore devotee. As John watched him grip the steering wheel from the back, the driver enthusiastically shared stories about his massive collection, his favorite artists, and how he regularly trades the driver's seat for front-row concert tickets and glow sticks.
It was visually chaotic, utterly unique, and easily the most entertaining ride of the entire trip. You always look for the unexpected—and sometimes, the most unforgettable frames happen when you turn the camera away from the streets and capture the view right from the back seat.
